Antonio Prosper is an Ibiza-based musician. He plays bass and plays around with modular synths. This EP happened fast, over just a few days at the beginning of summer. The feeling of the island is present in every melody and sonic sweep.

In Waves in his own words:

After years focused on making dance oriented music and not being really fulfilled with the results I decided to change my approach.
I started making music with no set preconceptions or functionality; without thinking of clubs, parties and dancing and just letting myself go and enjoying the creative process. Surprisingly, it ended up being some of the music that represents me and the place where I’ve lived almost all my life in the most truthful way. In Waves is part of the outcome of this. Music that is simple and nostalgic, which transmits my surroundings and the real life of us island aboriginals, who are not actually into the mainstream music scene that Ibiza is known for today. But rather inspired by the past Balearic eclecticism this place was once known for, with an eye on what is going on in other, real music scenes outside of this weird, tiny microcosmos.

Bio

Ibiza native Antonio Prosper has been obsessed and fascinated by music for as long has he can remember. Having started playing bass at the early age of 11, after his stepfather showed him some Jaco Pastorius and Weather Report records, he then went on to study his craft in London. Prosper got driven more into electronic music when he realised he could do everything by himself, without having to deal with other people. That was a nice discovery. His music is inspired by the sound of old synthesisers, his own modular system, drum machines and music of the 80s and 90s - as well as all the fresh new material that goes through his hands working at OpenLab, a radio station on the Island.
